Won't making a claim on my own insurance make my premiums go up, or cause my insurance company to cancel my policy altogether?

It's sometimes difficult to predict what an insurance company will do in response to a claim being filed. I do know that several years ago when I was in an accident, I asked my insurance company the same question. I was told that because the accident was not my fault, and because I had a good driving record, that making a claim on my policy would not cause my premiums to go up or cause my policy to be canceled.

My general advice is that if clients have any question about the issue, they should contact their insurance agent and ask what the insurance company will do in response to a claim being filed.
