Teen Killed in Motorcycle AccidentA Northern Kentucky high school is going into graduation day without one of their classmates. A Grant County High School senior died early Friday morning after crashing his motorcycle. It happened on Fairview Road near Kells Road in Williamstown. A picture of a smiling Joshua Lilly now sits at the spot where he lost his life early Friday morning. Police said that the 18-year-old died, after losing control of his motorcycle and hitting a stone wall. "You just don't understand how come a young life is taken like that but he was very well liked and very well-known," said Nancy Howe with Grant County School District. On Friday morning, grief counselors were on-hand at Grant County High School where Lilly was a senior. Earlier this year, the school district also mourned the loss of a junior who was killed in car accident. "We have a little more than 200 in our senior class and many of them have been here all 12, 13 years. So they are very close and it’s been very difficult," said Howe. On his MySpace Web site page, Lilly talked about the things he enjoyed including his pickup truck and his job at the family business, Lilly's Auto Care. Lilly also added, "Friends and family are still the most important things in my life. Without these, there is not much a person can do, but with these, anything is possible." Funeral services have been set for this weekend. Joshua's classmates are planning to do a remembrance at their graduation June 5. |
