Accident Victims in Minnesota Car Accident ReleasedState police in Minnesota have released the names of the 5 motor vehicle operatos that were involved in a multi-vehicle accident near Kellogg. Ashley M. Kowalk, 24, of Kellogg, had the most serious injury. She was listed in good condition in Saint Marys Hospital Thursday afternoon, a Mayo Clinic spokeswoman said. Kowalk had been driving the first car to be struck from behind in the multi-car crash. Two people had lesser injuries. Both have now been released from Saint Marys Hospital after receiving treatment. They are: Joni S. Noaeil, 37, of Rochester, a car passenger in the first automobile; and Waltman M. Walters, 81, of Fernandina Beach, Fla., whose car crashed with Kowalk's, the patrol said. Two other drivers had no injuries, a patrol officer at the scene reported. They are: Jacqueline A. Rude, 53, of Rochester, driver of the lead auto; and Tiffiney Benson, 42, of Wabasha, who was driving the second in the line of cars. The crash occurred at a construction area on Minnesota Highway 42 approximately 5 miles SW of Kellogg. It was reported at 4:48 p.m. on Wednesday. The first three vehicles, all northbound on Minnesota 42, had been stopped by a construction employee who flags traffic to stop or go slow, while a crew worked to repair the pavement. The 4th car came from the rear and crashed with the third car in line, pushing it into the second car and the second into the first, according to the police report.
