A rollover traffic accident approximately 25 miles south of Fallon Tuesday killed a local woman when she was ejected from her vehicle, reports the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Two other occupants in the vehicle were injured and transported to Banner Churchill Community Hospital.
Preliminary investigation from the NHP states Theresa L. Caskey, 46, of Fallon was driving her 2001 white GMC Jimmy southbound on U.S. 95. Caskey encountered a thunderstorm that was producing rain and hail. As a result, she lost control of her vehicle on the icy road, and the vehicle left the highway.

According to the NHP, the vehicle struck a plastic roadside marker and continued over a steep embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn and ejecting Caskey. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lyon County coroner.

The other passengers in the vehicle, 37-year-old John L. Caskey and 20-year-old Joshua J. Irwin, were injured. They were transported by private car to BCCH, but John Caskey was transported to Renown Medical Center in Reno via Care Flight. Irwin was treated and released.

The NHP said the three individuals were not wearing seat belts. Alcohol is not suspected in the accident.
Two more traffic accidents also occurred on U.S. 95 South. Lyon County investigated one accident, and the driver in the second accident did not wish to file a report because there was minor damage.
No other information was available from NHP.
