A Bastrop, Texas ISD School Bus was involved in an accident on Highway 21 just west of Bastrop, Texas when the bus was rear-ended by a truck. 60 students were on the bus, 6 were taken to Lakeside Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Students complained of neck, shoulder and back injuries.

Several students were picked up by their parents or legal guardians from the accident site. The remaining students are being taken to Lakeside Hospital where it is expected they will be seen by Lakeside staff and be medically released to return to school.

A Houston school district bus carrying three special-needs students was involved in an accident this morning, but no one was injured, Houston police said.

The accident, involving the bus and a pickup truck, occurred about 8:40 a.m. in the 12800 block of Almeda in far southwest Houston, said HPD spokesman John Cannon.

In addition to the three students and the driver, an aide was aboard the bus, Cannon said.

The children’s ages and further details about the accident were not available.

The case was turned over to Houston Independent School District police, Cannon said.

A DART bus crashed with an 18-wheeler in the eastbound HOV lane on Interstate 30 at Buckner Boulevard this morning.

The bus was en route from a yard and had no passengers when it became pinned between an HOV barrier and the truck, said DART spokesman Mark Ball. A third vehicle may have been involved.

The bus and truck spilled fuel, and crews cleared the road shortly before 9 a.m. TrafficPulse said the road had been closed for about two hours.
