A Police Officer in San Antonio, Texas was seriously injured in an auto accident near Highway 10. It was reported that the officer was headed north on Ackerman, answering an officer-in-trouble call when his car collided with an 18-wheeler truck. The collision resulted in the San Antonio, Texas police officer’s car hitting a telephone pole.

The police officer was taken by helicopter to University Hospital. Chief McManus of the San Antonio Police Department said the police officer sustained some serious injuries, but he did not believe they were life-threatening.

Police officers at the scene said the officer lost an ear in the accident and was rushed to the hospital in an attempt to have the ear reattached.
